NO Question, that was very delicious. Louis helped me preparing the dinner of fried chicken and crab cakes. It is as strange as it sounds. But thats the american style and I absolutely enjoyed it. 

After a winterbrake we met 2 weeks ago and had a long talk about everything that happend during winterholiday. Me and Louis made some german pencakes and had a great evening. In December I read an english book and it was fun. Not too easy but I accomplished it. That is one step forward on our way to reach the goals of our Sprachtandem. The book is calles "The shadows of the wind". 

Heute ist Sonja bei mir gekommt und wir habe Fried Chicken und Maryland Crab Cakes gekocht.  Ich half ihr mit der Koch.  Das Rezept ist von meinen Vater, und das Rezept für Crab Cakes ist von meiner Mutter.  Crab Cakes sind typisch Maryland Essen und sie kochten nur mit der Gewürz: Old Bay.  Ich hoffe die Essen schmeckt!

Ich war bei Sonja und dort haben wir über unsere Projekt diskutieren. Wir haben auch das Projekt begonnen. Für das Projek würden wir kochen und heute kochte ich Deutsche Pfankuchen. Sie war anders von Amerikanische Pfankuchen, weil sie flacher war. Wir machten auch fotos für des Projekt. Nächste Zeit wird Sonja etwas Amerikanisch kochen.  Nach dem koch, während wir essen, diskutieren wir über winterferien.  Sonja sagte mir was sie für Weihnachten machte, und was war normalerweise zu kochen, also z.B. Raclette und Gans.  Es war sehr interessant und sagte ich dir was ich für Weihnachte gemacht habe.

Very spontaneous me and louis decideded to spend the evening im my little flat. We had iced tea (made by louis) which was very delicious but different from the normal iced tea that you can buy in the shops. Why? It was without sugar - which I prefere. Louis read the story "Das Mädchen mit den Schwefelhölzchen", of which i thought its a very popular german christmas story. I am working on the christmasmarket at the moment, so I told Louis about my work at the mistletoehut. We had very nice and cosy evening and talked a lot in both languages.

Heute ging ich zu Sonjas haus und ich hatte Tee und Kekse. Ich brachte "ice tea" und "root beer." Wir haben über den Weihnachtsmärkte in Deutschland discutieren.  Ich habe auch über den Schwefelhözern Mädchen gelesen und finde ich seltsam. Es war nicht, wie ich gedacht hatte für eine Weihnachtsgeschichte.

Das Extrablatt war sehr schön. Es sah aus wie ein Bahnhof. Dort haben wir über Thanksgiving diskutieren, und ob es eine ähliche Feier in Deutschland gibt.  Mein Burger schmeckt sehr gut, aber es hat kein Brötchen. Endlich habe ich ein buch gekauft. Ich kaufte "Die Tribute von Panem."   Obwohl ich sie auf Englisch gelesen habe, finde ich, es wird auf Deutsch sehr interessant sein.

Me and Louis decided  to split the time in half german and half english, which seems to be very effective. Now both of us has the time to really speak and hear the other language without switching so much. 

Some vocabulary that I learned:

stuffing - Füllung (Louis told me about the stuffing that is used for Thanksgiving-turkey)

racing bike - Rennrad

rullfill it - umsetzen

not natural - künstlich ( That word came up, when Louis told me about the not natural cheese in America)

Wie haben in unserem letzen Treffen über viele Dinge diskutiert.  Eines der Dinge, die ich tun musste, war ein Objekt beschreibt. Es war ein bisschen schwierig, aber es war gut. Ich habe viele Vokabeln benutzt.  Ich möchte bald ein deutsches Buch kaufen, aber ich weiß nicht genau welches Buch zu kaufen.

Well both of us were really hungry, so we got something to eat in an Italian restaurant called the Vapiano. We had some pasta and as we always do on Monday meetings, we talked about what we did on the weekend. We were talking about the sparkling water which is not very common in America. Some words that I learned in this context: carbonation/ fizziness = Sprudel, sprinkles = Streusel. All in all, we had a nice evening with just too much cheese in in my pasta. Because we both had some iced tea, Louis promised to make some himself and bring it next time. In his familiy they always drink homemade iced tea. 

And also, Louis invited me for Thanksgiving - I am very much looking forward to this cultural event!!!
